As the year progresses people in Chile are gearing up for winter vacations. It is exciting to look back and see how God has been working as well as to look ahead at things to come. LOOKING BACK… The Potter’s House Church continues to grow and the leadership continues to be trained reach out through new small groups to share God’s love with their friends, family and neighbors. As a result of the Franklin Graham’s Operation Christmas Child ministry project in Punta Arenas several children and their parents have been present for the Sunday Celebration times. Eduardo and Raquel Jordan, along with Sandra and Nidia, have continued the ministry by visiting classes in a local school to share the good news of Jesus Christ along with one of the gift boxes. Rudy, one of the boys who have been attending the Children’s Cell since the project back in March is a student at the school where the team was last week. When he found out they were there, he went into the class they were visiting to help invite the children to church saying, “You will really enjoy the activities and the people”. An adult English Class that was started by Lauren back in March continues to meet. Since Lauren left, Jackie has been using a Gospel of John Video in English as a means to share Christ with the group.
LOOKING AHEAD…. The church will be holding VBS the last week in July. The leadership will begin meeting on Wednesdays to make plans. They are expecting about 20 children to attend. The church has also been invited to do a second VBS group in the home of one of the members who has a burden for the children in her neighborhood who do not presently attend any church. The Ladies Bible Study group will be learning how to share the message of salvation using their testimonies during these last weeks before the winter vacation starts. Among other things, they will be taught how to use the salvation bracelet. IN MONTEVIDEO, URUGUAY Mike and Annette find ways to be involved with the Montevideo Urban Team. The local missionaries have been great to include them in activities and ministries which will be on going during the six-months they will be in Uruguay. Recently Mike and Annette worked with an International World Changers team of sixty adults and youth who came from all across the United States. During the week the teams shared thousands of scripture portions, prayer walked many blocks of downtown Montevideo, shared using Christian Drama, Sports activities, children’s activities and even did a couple of building projects. The Raceys are working with Charles and Karen Clark (IMB missionaries) with a recently formed outreach group in a small area of Montevideo where over 70,000 people live in an area of about 15 by 10 blocks. Most of the people live in high rise apartment building. A very small percentage of these people (as is true with most Uruguayans) profess to be Christians. "I will also make you a light of the nations so that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth."
